But, I love you more to be truthful

My sons, one day you’ll know that behind closed doors there are battles I’m fighting daily

All for the game we love

But even more so, to keep you in the best position possible to be successful

Not just in the game but academically as well…

There’s a side to me you’ve never really seen, and for good reason
-
I’ve had to learn to use my brain and mouthpiece so I can move around in rooms that aren’t so welcoming to men like myself
-
It’s hard, there are days I come home defeated but I will never show it
-
Not to you nor those who think they’ve got the upper hand…not on my life, why?

Cause F them…I’m a dog, always have been always will be
-
Instead I get back up everyday and do what I do best, and that’s make moves and hustle
-
Because you deserve it and I know it falls on my shoulders
-
Nobody is going to risk it all for you like me, please know that with all your heart
-
I’ve had door after door shut on me, I’ve been turned away, I’ve been told no, I’ve been ignored and I’ve even been laughed at (but never to my face)
-
Crazy part is, I ALWAYS pick up the pieces and land on my feet just in time to make a move for you two
-
My ways aren’t always conventional, but I ain’t never took the conventional route for anything in my life

It’s part of the reason I’m still here standing because I’ve been through so much

When I think about that it puts things into perspective

This baseball stuff is easy in comparison

Jordan, you said it best…”Dad, everywhere we go for Baseball you’re always asked to step in and lead…”

Son, it’s because I told you…we were born to be Leaders

It’s why I’ve called you two KINGS since you were babies and why I named my last album “3 Kings”

I look at this photo and realize something

This is what it’s all about, you two…it’s always been about both of you and a game you love so much

There isn’t a league, organization, school or coach that will ever change that

Molina is a strong name, with strong roots…built on baseball royalty

Let’s continue building our own path, on our own journey
