Completed Book 1/17/21 - A Child's Memories of Cartoons & Murder
So, I should start this off with the fact that this book is written by a high school friend of mine, Tonya McKenzie and I am damn proud of her for writing this. This was book 2 of 4 for my #448Refined program. In a nutshell, this book is about Tonya's upbringing in San Jose, CA coming from a broken home and dealing with demons that a lot of families deal with and to be honest; never talk about publicly.
It takes a lot of guts to write a book like this and I am sure she struggled emotionally when she was knee deep in the process. But, there is a sense of healing you get when she completed the story. When I got to the end, I felt like she completed the circle and broke the chain for not only herself, but here family as well (Husband & Children).
It's a really good book, not too long and one you can knock out in a week at about 20-23 pages a day.
